Dream Cruises is “voluntarily” suspending the operations of Genting Dream from Singapore from 23 February until 27 March, citing ongoing concern surrounding the current Covid-19 outbreak ,
“Dream Cruises has made the difficult decision to suspend its operations from Singapore as a measure to help curtail the spread of Covid-19 and as a result of the tightening travel restrictions that have been enacted by various countries,” said Michael Goh, president of Dream Cruises.
“Guests who are booked on any of the cancelled itineraries will be contacted and provided with a variety of compensation options including to defer their cruise to a future sailing or, if needed, to cancel their cruise for a full refund.”

The company said it has implemented various precautionary measures across its fleet to safeguard the well-being of its guests and crew. They include health and temperature screening for all embarking guests and crew members before every sailing, as well as stringent sanitisation and enhanced disinfection protocols, especially in high hand-touch areas, on board its ships.
Crew members on duty are also required to wear masks and other appropriate gear including disposable gloves and complimentary facial masks for passengers are available upon request.
Dream Cruises added with these measure there have been no reported cases of the disease among guests or crew while on board or transmitted via any of Dream Cruises’ ships.
“We have been extremely grateful for the support we have received from our guests and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this suspension has caused,” added Goh.
In a related development, Genting Dream arrived in Malaysia’s Port Klang from Singapore this afternoon (February 20) with passengers from 15 countries and crew members of 32 nationalities. Local media reported all on board the cruise vessel were screened by the authorities prior to boarding and departure from Singapore, as well as on board by the ship’s medical personnel during the voyage. So far there has not been any report of anyone on board having high fever or any symptoms of the Covid-19, according to the Port Klang Authority (PKA). The cruise ship did not stop or passed through China.
