Muslims like shopping in Asia/Pacific
Asia/Pacific cities are the world’s top shopping destinations for Muslim tourists, results in the MasterCard-CrescentRating Muslim Shopping Travel Index (MTSI) 2015 showed.
The MTSI 2015 revealed Muslim travellers spent a total of US$62 billion globally in shopping and dining. Kuala Lumpur was second on the overall list of 40 cities in the index that also included Singapore in third spot. Topping the list was Dubai.
Scoot and Tigerair Singapore join KrisFlyer
Scoot and Tigerair Singapore have been added onto the Singapore Airlines’ frequent flyer programme meaning members of KrisFlyer can now earn miles when flying on Scoot and Tigerair Singapore.
KrisFlyer members can earn miles when they purchase a PlusPerks bundle or FlexiCombo fare for their flights on Scoot and Tigerair Singapore, respectively.
Singapore, Indonesia officials meet to tackle haze
Officials from Singapore and Indonesia met yesterday in Jakarta to discuss efforts to tackle the haze that has enveloped parts of the region in recent weeks.
According to reports in The Straits Times, Indonesian Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya Bakar is said to be consulting peatland experts on how to better douse illegal forest fires raging in Kalimantan and Sumatra.
